Bible Chapter Summary
Isaiah 41 Summary
The Lord's Comfort to Israel
The Lord calls the islands and peoples to judgment, declaring He has raised up a righteous man from the east who will rule over nations and kings. Israel is reminded that God chose them as His servant from the ends of the earth, and He assures them they need not fear because He will strengthen and uphold them. Those who contend with Israel shall be ashamed and perish, while God promises to make Israel a sharp threshing instrument to thresh mountains into chaff. God declares He will provide water in the wilderness and plant trees there, so that all may see and know the hand of the Lord has done this.
