Bible Chapter Summary
Jeremiah 3 Summary
Call to Backsliding Israel and Judah
The Lord laments Israel's adultery with many lovers and declares that despite her harlotry, if she returns to Him, He will receive her. Backsliding Israel was divorced for her sins, yet unfaithful Judah saw this and followed the same path without true repentance. The Lord calls all backsliding children to return, promising to heal their backslidings and give them faithful pastors. He reveals that in those days, Judah and Israel shall walk together and come to Zion, calling Him Father, with Jerusalem becoming the throne of the Lord where all nations gather.
