Jeremiah 43 Summary

Rejected Counsel: Flight to Egypt

Despite Jeremiah's clear warning, the captains and people rejected his message, accusing Jeremiah of being influenced by Baruch to deliver them to the Chaldeans. They took all the remnant of Judah, including Jeremiah and Baruch, and fled into Egypt to Tahpanhes. There the Lord commanded Jeremiah to hide great stones in clay at Pharaoh's house and declare that Nebuchadrezzar would set his throne over them and strike Egypt with sword, captivity, and fire.
