Job 2 Summary

Job Afflicted with Boils, Comforted by Friends

Satan appears before God a second time and proposes another test: if Job's flesh and bones are afflicted, he will certainly curse God. God permits Satan to strike Job with painful boils from head to foot, though He forbids taking Job's life. Job's wife urges him to curse God and die, but Job rebukes her foolish counsel and refuses to sin. Three friends—Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar—arrive to mourn with him and sit silently for seven days, seeing his great grief.
