Bible Chapter Summary
Job 3 Summary
Job Curses the Day of His Birth
Breaking the silence after seven days, Job opens his mouth and curses the day of his birth and the night of his conception. He wishes that day to be darkness and that it never enter the calendar of months. Job laments that death did not claim him at birth and envies the peace of the grave, where the wicked cease troubling and the weary rest. He questions why light and life are given to one in such misery, having feared the very calamities that have befallen him.
