Bible Chapter Summary

Job 39 Summary

The Lord's Questions About Animals

The Lord continues questioning Job regarding creatures He alone sustains: the wild goats, hinds, wild ass roaming free in the wilderness, and the wild ox that no man can tame. God asks if Job gave the peacock and ostrich their wings, noting that the ostrich forsakes her eggs in the dust heedlessly. God describes the horse's strength and terror, and the hawk and eagle that soar and hunt by divine power, not human knowledge or command.
