Bible Chapter Summary

Luke 11 Summary

Teaching Prayer and Divine Provision

Jesus teaches His disciples the Lord's Prayer when asked to teach them to pray. He instructs them to ask God for provision, forgiveness, and deliverance through a parable about a friend who keeps seeking aid. Jesus promises that all who ask, seek, and knock shall receive and find, and assures them that God gives the Holy Ghost to those who ask. He performs a casting out of a devil, but the people accuse Him of working through Beelzebub, to which He responds that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand, and demonstrates His power comes from God's finger.
