Two disciples walk to Emmaus, joined by the risen Jesus whom they do not recognize. He opens the Scriptures: was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer and enter his glory? At the table he breaks bread and their eyes are opened. He appears to the eleven. He opens their minds to understand Scripture. Ascension from Bethany.
