Bible Chapter Summary

Matthew 24 Summary

Signs of the End and Final Judgment

Jesus predicts the temple's destruction; on the Mount of Olives He warns of false Christs, wars, famines, earthquakes, and persecution of believers. The gospel shall be preached to all nations before the end. He describes great tribulation and the abomination of desolation, telling disciples to flee and pray. The sun and moon will darken, stars fall, and the Son of Man will appear in clouds with power and glory, gathering the elect. Jesus teaches watchfulness through parables: the fig tree budding signals nearness, a thief coming unexpectedly warns against unreadiness, and an evil servant beaten asunder receives damnation.
