Bible Chapter Summary
Matthew 25 Summary
Parables of Watchfulness and Final Judgment
The kingdom is likened unto ten virgins awaiting the bridegroom: five wise bring oil, five foolish do not; when he comes at midnight, only the ready enter the marriage, and the door is shut to the rest. The faithful must watch, knowing neither day nor hour. Jesus teaches the parable of talents: a master gives servants five, two, and one talents; those who trade and gain are called faithful and made rulers, while he who hides his talent is cast into outer darkness. Finally, Jesus describes the judgment of nations: the Son of Man separates sheep from goats, blessing those who fed, clothed, visited, and gave drink to the least of His brethren, while cursing those who did not.
