Bible Chapter Summary
Matthew 6 Summary
The Sermon on the Mount: Prayer, Fasting, and Treasure
Jesus addresses religious performance: do not practice righteousness to be seen by others. He gives the Lord Prayer as the model for genuine prayer: Our Father in heaven. Teach to fast secretly. Do not store up earthly treasures. No one can serve two masters. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
