Matthew 7 Summary

Judge Not and the Two Foundations

Do not judge lest you be judged. Remove the plank from your own eye first. Ask, seek, knock - the Father gives good gifts. The narrow gate leads to life; few find it. Beware false prophets; you will know them by their fruit. Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter. The wise man builds on the rock.

Key verses

Matthew 7:1-2

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Matthew 7:7-8

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 7:24-25

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
