Bible Chapter Summary

Nahum 2 Summary

The Siege and Fall of Nineveh

The destroyer advances against Nineveh with chariots blazing like fire and lightning through the streets. The gates of the rivers are opened and the palace dissolves as the city's defense fails. Nineveh, once proud like a lion's den, becomes a place of spoil and emptiness, its people fleeing despite cries to stand. The LORD declares Himself against the city, promising to burn her chariots, devour her young lions, and cut off her prey, bringing an end to her dominion and the voice of her messengers.
