Philippians 4 Summary

Rejoice and Let Your Requests Be Known to God

Paul exhorts the Philippians to stand fast in the Lord and urges Euodias and Syntyche to be of the same mind. He calls the church to rejoice in the Lord always and to let their moderation be known to all men, for the Lord is at hand. Instead of anxiety, Paul instructs them to bring every need before God in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, that the peace of God—surpassing all understanding—will guard their hearts and minds through Christ. He calls them to think on virtuous and praiseworthy things, and rejoices greatly over their renewed care for him, though he has learned contentment in all circumstances through Christ who strengthens him.
