Bible Chapter Summary
Philippians 3 Summary
Pressing Toward the Goal in Christ
Paul warns the Philippians to beware of false teachers who would place confidence in the flesh, and declares that true believers worship God in the Spirit through Christ. Though Paul had much to boast of in the flesh—being an Israelite and zealous Pharisee—he counts all such things as loss for the excellency of knowing Christ Jesus. He presses forward to apprehend that for which Christ apprehended him, forgetting what lies behind and reaching toward the high calling of God. Paul exhorts the church to be followers of him, to mind heavenly things, and to look for the Saviour who will transform their vile bodies into the likeness of His glorious body.
