Bible Chapter Summary
Proverbs 18 Summary
Power of Words and Seeking Knowledge
Proverbs 18 teaches that through desire a man separates himself seeking and intermeddling with all wisdom, while a fool delights not in understanding but in discovering his own heart. The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters and a wellspring of wisdom like a flowing brook. A fool's lips enter contention and his mouth calls for strokes; his destruction comes from his own words. The name of the LORD is a strong tower where the righteous runs and is safe.
