Bible Chapter Summary
Psalms 107 Summary
God Redeems the Troubled and Wayward
The psalmist calls the redeemed to give thanks to the Lord, recounting how He gathered them from the lands and delivered them out of distress when they cried to Him. Through four scenes of human trouble—wandering hungry in the wilderness, bound in affliction and darkness, afflicted through folly, and in peril at sea—God saves those who cry out, breaking their bands and sending healing. He also turned the land to wilderness for the wicked and the wilderness to fruitful ground for the righteous, blessing them and multiplying their families.
