Bible Chapter Summary
Psalms 144 Summary
Song of Deliverance and Blessing
The psalmist blesses the Lord who strengthens him and teaches his hands to war, declaring the Lord his fortress, deliverer, and shield. He reflects on human brevity and weakness, then calls upon the Lord to bow the heavens and come down in power, casting forth lightning and arrows against his foes. He promises to sing a new song to God and envisions a blessed nation with strong sons, prosperous daughters, and abundant crops.
