Bible Chapter Summary
Psalms 143 Summary
Prayer for Mercy and Guidance
The psalmist earnestly petitions the Lord to hear his prayer and answer in faithfulness and righteousness, knowing that no one can be justified before God's judgment. He describes being persecuted, struck down, and dwelling in darkness like the long dead, causing his spirit to be overwhelmed and his heart desolate. He recalls God's mighty works, stretches forth his hands in thirst for the Lord, and pleads for the Lord to teach him God's will and quicken his soul from trouble.
