Bible Chapter Summary

Psalms 73 Summary

Doubt Resolved by God's Sanctuary

The psalmist confesses that he nearly lost faith when he saw the wicked prospering without trouble or sorrow while he endured constant affliction and felt his righteousness had been in vain. Upon entering God's sanctuary, he understood their ultimate destruction and realized that despite their wickedness appearing unpunished, they dwell on slippery ground. He concludes that remaining near God, trusting Him, and declaring His works is true good, for those far from God perish but the righteous find strength in God's eternal portion.
