Psalms 72 Summary

A Prayer for the King's Justice and Reign

The psalmist petitions God to grant the king His righteousness and judgment so he will rule the poor and oppressed with justice, breaking the oppressor and delivering the needy. The king will receive honor from all nations and kingdoms, and his reign will bring peace and prosperity that endure throughout generations. His name will be eternally blessed, and he will be remembered as the one through whom God brought salvation.
