Bible Chapter Summary

Psalms 9 Summary

Praise for God's Judgment and Justice

The psalmist praises God with his whole heart and recounts His marvellous works, declaring that when enemies are turned back they fall and perish at God's presence. God has maintained the psalmist's right and cause, sitting in the throne judging right, rebuking the heathen and destroying the wicked. The LORD shall endure for ever with His throne prepared for judgment, judging the world in righteousness and serving as a refuge for the oppressed. Those who know His name put their trust in Him, knowing He has not forsaken those who seek Him. The psalmist calls the people to declare God's deeds and notes that God's judgment ensnares the wicked in their own works, while the needy shall not always be forgotten and the poor's expectation shall not perish.
