Bible Chapter Summary
Titus 1 Summary
Apostolic Greeting and Elders' Qualifications
Paul writes to Titus, his spiritual son, explaining his apostolic calling to preach the gospel of eternal life which God promised before the world began. He instructs Titus to ordain elders in every city of Crete, men who must be blameless, sober, hospitable, and able to teach sound doctrine. Paul warns against false teachers and deceivers, particularly those promoting Jewish fables, and urges Titus to sharply rebuke those who teach for filthy gain.
