Zechariah 1 Summary
The Call to Repentance and Four Visions
Zechariah receives the word of the Lord in the second year of King Darius, calling the people to turn from evil as their fathers refused to do. The Lord promises to return to Jerusalem with mercy and to build His house. Zechariah is shown four visions: a man riding a red horse among myrtle trees, horsemen sent to patrol the earth reporting that all the earth is at rest, four horns representing those who scattered Judah, and four carpenters who come to cast out the horns of the Gentiles.
