Bible Chapter Summary
1 Chronicles 14 Summary
David's House and Victories over Philistines
Hiram king of Tyre sends messengers, timber, and craftsmen to build David a house, and David perceives that the Lord has confirmed him king and lifted up his kingdom. David takes more wives and fathers many children at Jerusalem. When the Philistines hear that David is anointed king, they go up to seek him; David inquires of the Lord, who commands him to go up and promises to deliver them. David defeats the Philistines at Baal-perazim, and after they burn their idols, they attack again; the Lord directs David to circle around and attack near the mulberry trees, and David prevails again. Thus David's fame spreads throughout all lands and the Lord brings fear of him upon all nations.
