Bible Chapter Summary

1 Chronicles 16 Summary

The Ark Installed and Psalm of Thanksgiving

The ark is brought into the tent David prepared and burnt offerings and peace offerings are made before God; David blesses the people in the Lord's name and distributes bread and meat to all Israel. David appoints Levites to minister before the ark, recording and giving thanks and praise to the Lord, with Asaph as chief and others with psalteries, harps, and cymbals. On that day David delivers a psalm of thanksgiving to Asaph, a long song that recalls God's covenant with Abraham and Isaac, his faithfulness to Israel, and calls all creation to praise him. David establishes continual ministry at the ark in Jerusalem and maintains the altar with priests at Gibeon, and all the people depart in joy.
