David Prepares Materials for the Temple
David determines to build a permanent house for the Lord and gathers massive quantities of iron, brass, cedar, and stone. God reveals that Solomon, not David, will build the temple because David has shed much blood in war. David instructs Solomon to build the house and commands all princes of Israel to support Solomon's construction.
