Bible Chapter Summary

1 Timothy 2 Summary

Prayer for All and Right Conduct

Paul exhorts that prayers, supplications, and thanksgivings be made for all men, kings, and those in authority, so believers may live peaceable lives in godliness and honesty. God desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth through Christ, the one mediator between God and men, who gave himself as a ransom for all. Paul instructs men to pray everywhere with holy hands, without wrath and doubting. Women should adorn themselves in modest apparel with shamefacedness and sobriety, displaying good works rather than costly array.
