Bible Chapter Summary

1 Timothy 4 Summary

Warnings Against False Teachers

Paul warns that in later times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, forbidding marriage and commanding abstinence from meats that God created for thanksgiving. Every creature of God is good and nothing is to be refused if received with thanksgiving and sanctified by God's word and prayer. Timothy is instructed to be a good minister by putting brethren in remembrance of these things and refusing profane fables, exercising himself unto godliness instead. Godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of both present and future life.
