Bible Chapter Summary

2 Chronicles 13 Summary

Abijah's Victory Over Jeroboam Through Faith

Abijah becomes king of Judah and wages war against Jeroboam of Israel. Though Jeroboam's army greatly outnumbers Abijah's, Abijah addresses Israel from Mount Zemaraim, declaring the Lord's covenant with David's line and condemning Jeroboam's idolatry. The men of Judah cry to the Lord, the priests sound trumpets, and God defeats the vastly larger northern army. Jeroboam is struck by the Lord and dies, while Abijah takes cities and strengthens Judah through faith in God's promises.
