Bible Chapter Summary
2 Chronicles 9 Summary
The Queen of Sheba Visits Solomon
The queen of Sheba, hearing of Solomon's fame, comes with a great company and camels bearing spices, gold, and precious stones to test him with hard questions. Solomon answers all her questions and nothing is hidden from him. She observes his wisdom, his magnificent house, his table, his servants in fine apparel, his cupbearers, and the ascent into God's house. She testifies that the report she heard was true but understated, and that Solomon exceeds the fame she had heard. She gives him one hundred twenty talents of gold, great abundance of spices, and precious stones, and Solomon gives her all she desires. In one year Solomon receives six hundred sixty-six talents of gold, besides gifts from merchants and kings of Arabia.
