Bible Chapter Summary
Exodus 36 Summary
Craftsmen Build the Tabernacle's Structure
Moses summons Bezaleel, Aholiab, and all the skilled craftsmen to begin constructing the tabernacle with the offerings the Israelites had brought. The people's generosity proves so overwhelming that Moses must command the camp to stop bringing contributions, as the materials already exceed what is needed. The craftsmen then set to work fashioning the tabernacle's inner linen curtains with cherubim embroidery, the outer goat-hair tent covering, the rams' skin and badger-skin outer layers, the upright boards of shittim wood with silver sockets, the gold-overlaid bars, the elaborately woven inner veil, and the embroidered hanging for the tabernacle door.
