Bible Chapter Summary

Ezekiel 11 Summary

Judgment and Promise to the Remnant

The Spirit lifts Ezekiel to the east gate of the Lord's house where he sees twenty-five men including two princes, Jaazaniah and Pelatiah, who devise mischief and speak wickedly, comparing Jerusalem to a cauldron where they are safe. Ezekiel prophesies against them, declaring that the slain in the city are the flesh and God will deliver the people to strangers and judge them in the border of Israel. When Pelatiah dies during the prophecy, Ezekiel cries out asking if God will consume the remnant. God then promises that though He has scattered Israel among the nations, He will gather them again, give them one heart and a new spirit, and they shall be His people.
