Bible Chapter Summary
Ezekiel 2 Summary
The Prophet's Commission
God commands Ezekiel to stand and speaks to him as the Son of man, calling him to prophesy to the rebellious children of Israel who have transgressed against the LORD. Though they are impudent and stiffhearted, Ezekiel must speak God's words whether they hear or forbear. God strengthens Ezekiel against fear and instructs him to receive all God's words in his heart. A hand stretches forth a roll of a book written within and without with lamentations, mourning, and woe, which Ezekiel must consume.
