Bible Chapter Summary

Ezekiel 31 Summary

The Cedar of Lebanon Falls

The Lord directs Ezekiel to address Pharaoh of Egypt with a parable about a great cedar tree in Lebanon that towered above all other trees and provided shelter for many creatures. Though this tree exceeded all others in beauty and greatness, the Lord humbled it and delivered it into the hands of a mighty one, who cut it down and scattered its branches. The chapter concludes by identifying the fallen cedar as Pharaoh and his multitude, destined to lie with the uncircumcised slain by the sword.
