Hosea 11 Summary

God's Tender Love and Israel's Stubborn Rebellion

The LORD recalls calling Israel as a child out of Egypt and teaching Ephraim to walk, drawing them with cords of love. Yet they sacrificed to Baalim, ignored His healing, and turned to Assyria instead of returning to Him. Though the sword must fall upon their cities for their backsliding, God's heart turns within Him; He will not execute His fierce anger or destroy Ephraim, for He is God and not man.
