Bible Chapter Summary
Hosea 12 Summary
Ephraim's Deceit and Jacob's Wrestling with God
Ephraim feeds on wind and makes covenants with Assyria while lying and increasing desolation. The LORD has controversy with Judah and will recompense Jacob according to his doings. Yet the chapter recalls how Jacob wrestled with the angel and found God at Beth-el, inviting Israel to turn to Him, keep mercy and judgment, and wait upon Him. Ephraim, a merchant of deceit, boasts of riches and innocence, but the LORD will make him dwell in tabernacles and restore him through the prophets.
