Bible Chapter Summary

Isaiah 16 Summary

Moab's Refugees and Salvation Promise

Send the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to Mount Zion; the daughters of Moab become like wandering birds cast out of the nest. The people are advised to let Moab's outcasts dwell with Judah as a covert from the spoiler, for the extortioner is at an end. In mercy shall the throne of David be established; He shall sit in truth, judging and seeking judgment, hastening righteousness. Though Moab's pride is very great and his wrath fierce, his lies shall not endure. Moab shall howl for his cities' destruction, and the vintage shouting shall cease. In the singing harp of the prophet's heart, Moab's glory shall be contemned within three years, and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
