Bible Chapter Summary

Isaiah 43 Summary

Redemption and Restoration

God reassures Jacob and Israel of His redemption, promising that when they pass through waters they shall not overflow, and when walking through fire they shall not be burned. The Lord gave Egypt, Ethiopia, and Seba as a ransom for them because they are precious and honored in His sight. He calls His people from the ends of the earth and declares He created them for His glory. The Lord acknowledges that Israel has not called upon Him or honored Him with sacrifices but instead made Him serve with their sins. Yet God declares He alone blots out their transgressions for His own sake and will not remember their sins.
