Bible Chapter Summary
Isaiah 65 Summary
Grace for a Rebellious People and New Creation
The Lord declares He was sought by those who asked not and found by those who sought Him not, extending His hands to a rebellious people who walk in ways not good and provoke Him to anger. They sacrifice in gardens, lodge in monuments, and eat swine's flesh, making a smoke in His nose. Yet the Lord will preserve a seed for His servants' sake and bring forth an inheritor of His mountains, where Sharon becomes a fold for flocks and the valley of Achor a place for herds. Most notably, the Lord announces He will create new heavens and a new earth, where Jerusalem is a rejoicing and her people a joy, with no more weeping, crying, or infant mortality, as the blessed build houses, plant vineyards, and long enjoy the work of their hands.
