Jeremiah 36 Summary

Scroll Written, Burned, and Rewritten

God commands Jeremiah to write all His words against Israel and the nations in a scroll. Baruch writes and reads it in the temple; the princes hear and hide Jeremiah and Baruch. King Jehoiakim burns the scroll in contempt, but God commands the scroll to be rewritten with additional words, and judgment is pronounced on the king.

Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
