Bible Chapter Summary

John 7 Summary

Teaching at the Feast of Tabernacles

During the feast of tabernacles in Jerusalem, Jesus teaches in the temple while the Jews seek to kill him. He defends his doctrine as coming from the Father who sent him, and justifies healing on the Sabbath by comparing it to circumcision. Jesus speaks of his departure, declaring himself the light of the world and promising living water to all who thirst and believe. The people are divided over whether he is the Christ, with some believing but others questioning whether the Messiah should come from Galilee.
