Bible Chapter Summary
Matthew 21 Summary
The Triumphal Entry and Cleansing
Jesus sends disciples to fetch an ass and colt, then rides into Jerusalem to crowds crying Hosanna, fulfilling the prophet's word. He enters the temple and casts out those buying and selling, overturning tables of moneychangers and declaring His house a house of prayer, not thieves. The blind and lame are healed in the temple while children cry Hosanna, but the chief priests and scribes are displeased. Jesus departs to Bethany for the night.
