Philippians 2 Summary

Unity in Mind and the Mind of Christ

Paul urges the Philippians to fulfill his joy by being likeminded with one love and one accord, esteeming others better than themselves. He calls them to the mind that was in Christ Jesus, who humbled himself and became obedient unto death on the cross, for which God highly exalted him. Paul exhorts them to work out their salvation with fear and trembling, doing all things without murmuring, that they may shine as lights in a crooked world. He sends commendations regarding Timothy and Epaphroditus, praising the latter for his near-death sacrifice in service to Paul and the church.
