Bible Chapter Summary
Psalms 148 Summary
All Creation Commanded to Praise
The psalmist summons the entire creation to praise the Lord, beginning with the heavens and all celestial bodies—angels, hosts, sun, moon, stars, and the waters above the heavens. He declares that all things were created by the Lord's command and established to endure forever by His unbreakable decree. He then calls upon all earthly creatures and beings—dragons, deeps, weather phenomena, mountains, trees, beasts, cattle, creeping things, flying fowl, and all people from kings to children—to praise the Lord whose name alone is excellent.
