Bible Chapter Summary

Psalms 97 Summary

The Lord's Reign and Righteous Judgment

The Lord reigns as the earth rejoices and the isles are glad, surrounded by clouds and darkness with righteousness and judgment as His throne's habitation. A fire goes before Him burning up His enemies, and His lightnings enlighten the world, causing the earth to tremble and hills to melt like wax. Those who love the Lord hate evil and are preserved and delivered from the wicked's hand, receiving light and gladness.
