Bible Chapter Summary

Romans 15 Summary

The Strong Bear the Weak, Unity in Christ

Paul exhorts the strong to bear infirmities of the weak rather than please themselves, following Christ's example of not pleasing Himself. Old Testament scriptures were written for believers' learning, providing patience and comfort so that through faith they might have hope. Believers are commanded to be likeminded and glorify God with one mouth. Paul describes his calling to minister Christ to the Gentiles to confirm God's promises to the fathers, that Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy. Paul declares he has fully preached the gospel from Jerusalem to Illyricum and now goes to Jerusalem to minister to saints with a contribution from Macedonia and Achaia, desiring to visit Rome en route to Spain.
